Created in 2008 in response to the lack of education around heritage breed pigs, Cochon555 is a nose-to-tail competition dedicated to supporting family farmers and educating chefs and diners about the agricultural importance of utilizing Old World livestock. We work with every type of restaurant and bar imaginable – Mom-and-Pop, farm-to-table, BBQ, Michelin star – and our participating chefs all share one core value: they source products responsibly. Our epic 2017 culinary tour starts in New York City and culminates with the finale, Grand Cochon.

BIG announcement...Yker Acres is moving! We bought a new farm 7 miles from where we are at. It has been a looooong process. We are going from 16 acres to 160! Wow! The big day is October 5th and we are excited to be able to expand our herd and grow our own grains!!!!! This is ALL ours!!!!

Farm Fest of Local Fare

Free Range Film Barn | 909 County Road 4 | Wrenshall, MN 55797

Farms, chefs, a distillery and brewery have been working cooperatively to provide local food and libations to the Twin Ports Region and this August they are looking to celebrate their interdependence with a party. “Farm Fest” will be held on August 20 th at the Free Range Film Barn from 6 to 10pm and will feature specialty chef prepared meals with vegetables from the Food Farm and pork from Yker Acres, live music from local bands, and spirits from Vikre Distillery and Bent Paddle Brewery. Tickets for the whole evening are $30 in advance and $35 at the door. Specialty chefs hail from the Duluth Grill, Chester Creek Café, and Lake Avenue Restaurant. Musicians include Amy Abts, Dan Dresser, and Jessica Skilar.
